Artists For #StopAsianHate

Fundraising Exhibition

18 MARCH - 18 MAY 2021

A horrific and heartbreaking surge in violence against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) is happening across the US. ‘Artists for #StopAsianHate’ is an initiative to raise funds in support of Stop AAPI Hate, a nonprofit organization leading the fight against anti-Asian racism and hate crimes in our communities.

The project brings together a group of works committed by various artists of Asian descent. Beginning on March 18, 2021, Yi Gallery will present, online, the artworks contributed to the project. The works will be on display and for sale on gallery-yi.com and through the gallery's Artsy online viewing room. Works in a range of mediums and price points ($125 - $2,200) are included in the project. After deduction of any share of proceeds to be retained by the artists, and reimbursement of nominal fundraising expenses, all proceeds will benefit Stop AAPI Hate Organization, which was founded in 2020 in response to the alarming escalation in xenophobia and bigotry resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The project was first conceived in early March, 2021 and was promptly launched thanks to the artists who have committed works to the exhibition (full list, in progress, below). We are also profoundly grateful to all the friends who have so generously contributed their time and expertise to support the cause in this collaborative effort.
